Hazel Sharp is a genre-explorative multi-instrumentalist currently studying classical saxophone at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Rooted in classical training and driven by creative curiosity, her musical journey has been shaped by a search for belonging and contentment. Since moving to Glasgow, she has found a deep connection with the traditions of Scottish folk music — an influence that sparked her passion for exploring a sense of place and now plays a central role in her artistic work.

As a saxophonist, pianist, and emerging whistle player, Hazel performs widely as a soloist and chamber musician. She is the saxophonist and pianist of Stillpoint, an all-female ensemble featuring flute, saxophone, cello, and piano, which performs original music and arrangements of contemporary and classical repertoire.

Beyond performance, Hazel is a passionate advocate for a diverse, compassionate, and safe music industry. She has served on the RSNO & SCO Youth Assembly Boards and the ABRSM UK Youth Advisory Board, and brings a trauma-informed, empathetic approach to her work as an educator. She is currently working as an Arts & Operations Intern with Performance Collective Scotland, working behind the scenes to support young rural artists access the arts, despite geographical barriers.

Navigating life with chronic illness, Hazel continually explores creative, body-aware approaches to performance and wellbeing. She believes the body is the true instrument behind every sound — a principle that informs both her artistic practice and her advocacy.
